NHRA Death
Scott Kalitta
Febuary 18, 1962 - June 21, 2008
Kalitta died in a fiery accident in Top Fuel finals qualifying at the Old Bridge Township Raceway Park in Englishtown, NJ, when his parachute did not come out, but flames did. The car did not stop until it hit the wall at the end of the track when the car literally exploded. Scott Kalitta was 46 years old. He is survived by wife Kathy, sons Corey, age 14 and Colin age 8, as well as father and NHRA legend Connie, and fellow Top Fuel racer and championship contender cousin Doug. Scott Kalitta will surely be missed by his family, fellow drivers, owners, pit crews, fans, and NHRA.
